The Cavan Food Network was set up in 2019 to support the indigenous Food and Drinks industry in County Cavan.
Cavan Food Network’s unique brand ‘Created in Cavan’ supports businesses that grow or produce food and/or drink in Cavan and those service and retail businesses that sell Cavan-made produce. There are multiple benefits to being a member of the Created in Cavan family.
The Brand provides consumer assurance that they are purchasing locally produced food or drink from County Cavan
The Brand promotes quality and a wide range of choice and variety of local produce.

How to become a Member?
Applicants can apply under any one of the following three categories:
Producer Member: Farmer, grower, food or drink producer committed to producing (i.e. growing, raising, brewing, baking or manufacturing) within the county and selling quality locally produced products.
Retail or Wholesale Member: Retail and Wholesale businesses committed to selling locally produced food and drink.
Hospitality or Tourism Member: Pubs, hotels, restaurants, cafés, caterers, B&Bs, self-catering accommodation, tourist attractions committed to sourcing and serving local produce.
Each Category has specific criteria that are detailed in the application form, this is a live document and is subject to change as the network grows and develops. The final decision on all applications for membership rests with the Food Strategy External Working Group.
All members must comply with all relevant Trading Standards e.g. HACCP, food hygiene regulations and consumer protection legislation currently in force.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and in order to support the Local Food and Drink Industry, the membership fee of €100 for 2020 & 2021 will be covered and paid for by Cavan County Council.
An Annual Membership Fee of €100 will be required from 2022 onwards.
