Now in its 15th year, Blas na hÉireann, The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. The Blas awards are the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself is now recognised as an international industry standard. Research has shown that the Blas accreditation has the highest recognition amongst Irish consumers and using the award logo on packs encourages shoppers to buy these products. It is their guarantee of a top-quality Irish product.

This year 8 food producers from Cavan have reached the final of the awards with 4 of these being part of the Created in Cavan food and drinks network. In the 2021 awards the following members brought home prizes- Ice-Cream Treats, Cullys Craft Bakery, Aíne Handmade Chocolates and Vanilla Bean Patisserie. The presence of these amazing Cavan producers encouraged other members of the Network to enter this year. The following Cavan producers have made it to the final this year.
